Nigeria - Governor, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state yesterday said he was helpless over the non-payment of seven months salaries to workers in the state, saying the situation was worrisome.
According to THISDAY, Aregbesola stated this at the inauguration of the sixth assembly, which was convoked with the immediate election of principal officers held at the state House of Assembly.
He noted that the unpaid salaries was a painful situation for workers to bear after the hectic work done.
He was however hopeful and optimistic that the situation would soon be a thing of the past.
He also contended that members of the assembly were being inaugurated at a time the state was sick financially and called for their commitment to overcome the challenge.
