Ademola Adeleke of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has stunned the APC in the just concluded Osun West Senatorial District election. The PDP candidate one 10 of the 11 LGAs in the poll.
In what has been interpreted as a slap in the face for the Osun state governor, the state APC and the national party, Ademola Adeleke polled 97, 280 votes, sweeping past the APC candidate, Mudashiru Hussein, who polled 66, 115 votes.
Mr Adeleke was a member of the APC but joined the PDP after he faulted the conduct of the primaries. This is the biggest indication yet that the PDP might not be a dead party in the South West of Nigeria.
