Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has admitted that the national team has got a lot of work to do, but commended their brave performance against South Africa in their game of the 2015 Nations Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria played a barren draw with host, Bafana Bafana in Cape Town on Wednesday night, with the West Africans having one point from two games and looking unsure like the team that lifted the Nations Cup last year.
The result, coupled with their shock 3-2 defeat against Congo on Saturday, has left Nigeria in third place in group A, however Keshi has preferred to look at the positives from the draw against South Africa.
“The game was not bad,” he said. “I thought it was good tactical play and good play by Bafana. [I saw] a bit of improvement from my players … a lot better than what we did on Saturday.
"We have not been together and it’s taking time to gel. I’m not satisfied, but I liked what I saw.”
Nigeria are now left with four games in the qualifiers, starting with a trip to Omdurman to play Sudan next month, and they have to win the game in order to keep their qualification hopes alive.
