At least 80 people have lost their lives after a lorry crashed into a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in the southern French city of Nice.
The 'terrorist' driver drove a heavy truck at high speed into a crowd that had watched Bastille Day fireworks late on Thursday, knocking people down and running over them.
He also opened fire before he was shot dead by policemen. Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve yesterday said 80 people died and 18 were in a critical condition.
President Francois Hollande said "France is filled with sadness by this new tragedy." He added that the country was "under the threat of Islamic terrorism"
