Metro Pakistani President Begins 4-day Visit to Nigeria this Monday

President Mamnoon Hussain of Pakistan will begin a four-day official visit to Nigeria from June 9, Nigeria's High Commissioner to Pakistan, Mr Dauda Danladi confirmed on Sunday in Abuja.

Hussain’s state visit was earlier scheduled for April 21 to April 24, but was postponed.

Speaking to newsmen by telephone in Abuja, Danladi said the Pakistani president's is leading a 70-man delegation to Nigeria, of which ten had already arrived.

"The visit is the first presidential visit from Pakistan in 32 years and it will provide an opportunity for both countries to discuss how to boost economic and trade relations," he said.

According to Danladi, during the visit, the Pakistani president will address business forums in Abuja and Lagos after a one-on-one meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan.

He also said delegations from both countries would hold discussions on trade, defence and industrial cooperation which could lead to the signing of agreements in these areas.
