According to Nigeria's Daily Trust Newspaper Pastor Bakare's spokesman Mr Yinka Odumakin, has denied any knowledge of an appointment by the president-elect General Buhari, to chair the transition committee. This denial has been echoed by Buhari campaign office Malam Garba Shehu.
Both parties have blamed the rumour on mischief makers.
"This is news to Pastor Bakare also. He read it in This Day Newspaper as others did this morning," Odumakin said.
