The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP has approved the resuscitation of the online registration system for the members of the party nationwide. The exercise will pilot immediately in Edo State.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh said in a statement on Sunday that the exercise will commence on Sunday. It said the party's decision to resuscitate the e-registration which was part of the re-engineering of the party was initiated at the 52nd National Executive Committee (NEC) on August 10, 2010.

According to the statement, the project is aimed at harmonising the membership data of the party and strengthen its structure at all levels. The NWC also sees it as a decisive step towards enthroning internal democracy and giving every member a voice in the party.

Meanwhile, the earlier scheduled Edo State congresses have been deferred until the completion of the pilot e-registration in the state.
