Last night, after a meeting of all governors of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the governors made a resolution that Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, National Chairman of the PDP must go.
It is however unknown if the PDP will ask Tukur to step aside. The governors have began intense lobbying to find Tukur's successor who must be from the North-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
The meeting was attended by the governors of Akwa Ibom, Delta, Abia, Ebonyi, Kogi, Kebbi, Kaduna, Bauchi, Enugu, Cross River, Katsina and Plateau states. Acting Governor of Taraba State and the Deputy Governor of Niger State were also present.
