Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has promised to offer protection to the media. This follows the reported clampdown on the Nigerian media by military personnel.
According to a statement issued by Akin Oyegoke, Special Assistant to the PDP national chairman, the media deserved protection due to its contribution to the emergence of democratic institutions in Nigeria.
The PDP Chieftain also debunked the recent online media report which quoted him as saying, "I will not tolerate any negative media report".He claimed that the report was false.
Mu'azu however, urged the media to abide by all ethics and privileges of the professions in their reportage, while it remained an unbiased umpire and showed transparency and neutrality always.
