A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, Umar Gital, on Tuesday accused the PDP of instigating the feud between the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu and the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Baru.
Gital, while speaking to newsmen on the feud, said the letter written by Kachikwu was leaked by “PDP moles in the system who are not happy with the progress achieved in the petroleum sector in the last two years and are trying by all means to give the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari a bad name.”
Describing the feud as normal internal conflict that usually arose in every set-up, be it public or private entity, he said he saw the whole thing as a product of the competition generated by the present reforms initiated by President Buhari in the petroleum sector.
“Unlike in the last PDP administration that NNPC and petroleum ministry were used as a conduit pipe to siphon the nation’s resources, today NNPC is driven by transparency and accountability as entrenched by the President through his capable lieutenants,” he said.
