At the advent of several key figures leaving the once great Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), representatives of PDP have stated that all members have a right of association as detailed in the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria and as such, they are not worried over one's fundamental human rights.
Olisa Metuh, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP disclosed this in a statement saying, “We wish to state categorically that the PDP remains unperturbed as we are now rid of detractors and distractions."
Although it was pointed out that through the actions of the departing governors to the All Progressive Congress (APC), the true intentions of certain people have been exposed and brought to light, Olisa Metuh still gave them the option to return as that is, according to him, “The beauty of democracy."
