The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has clinched 13 of the 14 state House of Assembly seats declared so far in Bayelsa, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

A summary of the results signed by the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State, Mr Baritor Kpagih, showed that the All Progressives Congress candidate, Mr Israel Goli, however, won in Brass Constituency.

Goli defeated the PDP candidate and incumbent Deputy Speaker of the assembly, Mr Sam Ateki.

The PDP candidates won three seats in Brass Constituency, one seat in Nembe Constituency1; Nembe Constituency 2 and Nembe Constituency 3.

Others are Ogbia Constituency 1; Ogbia Constituency 2; Sagbama Constituency 3; Southern Ijaw 2; Southern Ijaw 3 and Southern Ijaw 4; Yenagoa 1; Yenagoa 2 and in Yenagoa 3.

There was, however, no election in Brass Constituency 2 due to the insistence of some youths to see the Ward Collation result sheets before accreditation while the election in Ogbia Constituency 2 was declared inconclusive.

Election into eight of the 24 constituencies in Bayelsa was rescheduled by INEC due to shortage of ballot papers.
