A screenshot of a tweet attributed to Malam Nasir El-Rufai reads as follows: "the fracking of shale oil and gas will make US a net exporter of oil in 5 years. Crude oil is predicted to crash to less than $50 a barrel.."
While this tweet isn't entirely accurate, if the prediction was followed up, Nigeria may have been able to reasonably diversify in its production and cushion the economic pressure it is currently experiencing.
