The Ikwerre Local Government chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the police in Rivers State of invading the council headquarters and shooting tear gas at party supporters, brutalising traditional rulers and law-abiding citizens in the area.
The party also accused the police of destroying canopies, chairs and public address system. The APC further accused the police of confiscating valuables of APC supporters at the rally, coupled with terrorising the people with gun shots which disrupted the APC rally in Isiokpo headquarters of the council.
