Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho on Friday has stated that the Red Devils' era of domestic domination is over.
"I knew when I took over that periods of domination belong to the past," he said in a press conference. "The Premier League was going in a different direction," he said.
He added that he did not speak to David Moyes - who filled the role between May 2013 and April 2014 - before taking on the Old Trafford job.
Moyes returns to United for the first time since his sacking with Sunderland on Boxing Day.
