President Goodluck Jonathan has charged the Nigerian female under-20 team, the Falconets to beat Germany and win the FIFA under-20 Women's World Cup.

Nigeria will for the second time meet Germany in the finals of this age-grade competition, hoping to go better than the last time both teams met in 2010.

Jonathan who incidentally is in Germany, spoke with the team on Saturday and encouraged them to finish off the job that they have started.

In a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity,Reuben Abati, the president promised to stay up late and watch the game to cheer the team.

“You have done very well by getting to the final. I urge you to crown your efforts with ultimate victory tomorrow by playing with the greatest possible artistry, discipline, determination and patriotic zeal," President Jonathan told the players.

“I look forward to receiving you at the Presidential Villa with the winners’ trophy and you can be assured of the immense gratitude of the Federal Government and the very appreciative people of Nigeria,” President Jonathan told the girls and their handlers.

The Falconets have been consistent in the last four years, having made three appearances in the semifinal stage since 2010,and have qualified each of the seven occasions that this competition has taken place.

Coach Peter Dedevbo will be hoping to take his players one step closer and win the competition.
