Nigeria - President Goodluck Jonathan has signed the Administration of Criminal Justice Bill 2015, which was passed on the 5th of May by the Senate into law, Punch reports.
The bill is expected to address the problem of delayed criminal trials among other things.
According to Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, President signed the document on Wednesday, the same day he received the bill from the National Assembly.
“The President has signed the Administration of Criminal Justice Bill 2015. He signed it the same day he received it from the National Assembly. With that development, the bill is now an Act,” he said.
