According to Sahara Reporters, President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria is unable to sack the country's aviation minister Stella Oduah over her alleged illegal purchase of bulletproofed BMW's valued at N255 million because his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan made similar purchase in 2012.
Nigeria's first lady allegedly sought and received import waivers for the import of 200 BMW cars in 2012. The cars were allegedly purchased by Coscharis Motors.
The Ministry of Finance just released a list of beneficiaries of import waivers for 2012 and the first Lady's pet project was listed in it. The waivers granted to the first Lady's NGO, were for the importation of units of assorted brands of BMW car. The first Lady's BMW purchase is said to have cost half a billion naira.
The 200 BMW's were reportedly used during the African first ladies summit.
Meanwhile, the Reuben Abati, special assistant on media to President Jonathan has come out to claimed that Coscharis Motors had donated the cars to the summit at no cost to the government or the First Lady.
