BRITISH tycoon Richard Branson has urged companies to boycott Uganda over a draconian anti-homosexuality bill passed by its parliament last week.

The Virgin founder said Uganda must abandon the bill, which would make homosexuality punishable by up to life in prison, or find itself "ostracised by companies and tourists worldwide".

So can we should expect Virgin Atlantic to stop operations to Nigeria soon?

Merry Christmas to you all.

It would be interestingly hypocritical of Richard Branson if he doesn't shut down Virgin Atlantic in Uganda - if it is there, that is - and, by extension, in Nigeria.

It is high time we realized that the world has more pressing issues that setting up draconian penalties for something as volitive as homosexuality.

Any company that decides to shut down operations in Uganda at Richard Branson's suggestion must not have been making much profit in the country in the first place...
