Ahead of the 2015 general elections, all political parties in Rivers State have been called upon to field candidates from the coastal area of the state.
A socio-political group, the Rivers Liberation Alliance, made the call yesterday during a press briefing in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The group’s president, Sir Opunabo Inko-Tariah, said it was the turn of the coastal area to produce the next governor, claiming that rotation of the state governorship position in the past had been between the upland and coastal areas.
