The All Progressives Congress in Rivers state has selected Dakuku Peterside as a consensus candidate to run for the 2015 Governorship election.
According to DAILY POST, APC elders in the state settled for the Lawmaker representing Andoni-Opobo-Nkoro at the Federal House of Representatives, with Senator Magnus Abe, the other favorite present at the meeting when the decision to select Peterside was reached.
Dakuku Peterside's name will now be sent to the state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi for ratification.
Peterside was a former Commissioner for works during the first tenure of Amaechi.
Interestingly, the APC consensus candidate hails from the same community with the current Chief of Army Staff, Kenneth Minimah.
