Unknown Gunmen on Tuesday attacked the Police Divisional Headquarters in Ngo, Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, shooting sporadically into the station.
The incident according to PUNCH occurred around 3.50am, was said to have cause tension within the area as the deafening sound of gunshots jolted residents living close to the police divisional headquarters.
It was gathered that the attack lasted for about 10 minutes as the gunmen’s several shots shattered the windows and some other objects within the premises of the police divisional headquarters.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmad Muhammad, who confirmed the incident, said no life was lost, adding that more policemen had been deployed in the place.
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Andoni Local Government, Mr. Ere Victor, said the hoodlums stormed the police divisional headquarters at about 4am and began to shoot at the building.
