A fraction of militants have surrendered their arms to the Rivers state government and embraced amnesty, Daily Post reports.
A group of youths led by Don Wanny, in a surprise move led his gang to accept the amnesty offer from the Rivers state Amnesty Committee.
Don Wanny, who is known to be a leader of a well-armed group of agitators surrendered more than twenty AK-47 riffles, General Purpose Machine Guns, GPMGs, rocket launchers, Granades, British Pump Action, among many other dangerous weapons.
However, some cult groups operating around Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State are not ready to surrender their arms.
