The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has released preliminary report on the river rerun elections conducted in Etche Local government area on Saturday, 26 February, 2017.

Recall that hoodlums chopped off the hand of an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Igbo-Etche community, Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State in the supplementary legislative election.
Also, security operatives led by soldiers arrested the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Hon. Samuel Nwanosike, and 62 other supporters of the party at Ulakwo II community in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, for allegedly wandering during the conclusion of the legislative rerun election in the local government area.
