Vladimir Putin, Russia’s President is scheduled to pay a visit to Pope Francis on November 25, the Vatican said on Thursday.
In September, the pontiff wrote a letter to Putin ahead of Group of 20 (G20) Summit hosted by Russia. In it, he called for peace in Syria and the Middle East and pleaded for a fairer global economic system.
The meeting is due to take place at about 5 p.m. (1600 GMT), Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said, as quoted by Vatican Radio.(NAN)
