A 22-year-old sales boy, Usman Musa, was on Monday arraigned before a Tinubu Magistrates' Court for allegedly selling his employer’s property valued at N48,000.

Musa, of no fixed address, is being tried on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Daniel Ighodalo, said that the accused committed the offences on March 3, at about noon within Ajah Market.

He said that Musa, a former sales boy to the complainant, Amenawon Ikechuame, removed and sold the compressor of her freezer due to the delay in the payment of his salary.

"Because of the delay in the payment of his salary, Musa connived with his brother to steal the complainant's property while she was on admission in hospital."

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 285(5)(a) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The Magistrate, Mrs Olaitan Ajayi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned hearing until April 30.
