The Lagos state government will be providing free bus to residents on the 4th of October, 2014, as part of its measures to ease transportation constraints during the Eid-el-Fitri celebration in the state.

Dr Dayo Mobereola, Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) said the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) route will be free for those commuting from Mile 12 to CMS.

Those on the Bus Franchise Scheme (BFS) who'll be riding along Ikotun-Igando-Iyana-Ipaja-Ikeja would also be commuting free of charge.

He asked Nigerians to reflect on the significance of the celebration, the purpose of which is sacrificial giving and to not merely use the festival as a reason for gluttony.
