battle for the next Emir of Kano has begun. The rat race kicked off following the death of Alhaji Ado Bayero on Friday.
DailyPost reports that Bayero, the longest-serving Emir in the history of Kano state joined his ancestors on Friday after battling an undisclosed ailment.
Those jostling to take over the throne of leadership include the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Sanusi Lamido, who holds the traditional title of Dan-majen Kano; his uncle, Sanusi Abbas, who holds the title of Wamban Kano and Sanusi Ado Bayero, the late Emir’s first son, who is the District Head of Gwale.
