Nigeria's Senate President Bukola Saraki, at the moment, doesn't give a hoot if Hameed Ali, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Services, dons the apparel of the agency, as long as he puts an end to smuggling operations in Nigeria.
Saraki stated this while declaring open a public hearing on ‘Smuggling - A threat to Nigeria’s quest to self-sufficiency in rice production’ yesterday.
The Customs boss was in attendance.
Addressing Ali, Saraki: “Once you end smuggling, even if you want to wear jeans and T-shirt, I will personally move the motion to support you”.
Hameed Ali has been having issues with the Senate over his failure to wear Customs uniform.
