The Lagos Command of the Nigerian Police Force has cleared cancer patient, Ahmed Mayowa and her family of fraud allegations leveled against them.
Lagos Police Commissioner Orders Investigation Into 'Save Mayowa' Campaign
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, announced the clearance on Wednesday. He said the command therefore had to remove the embargo placed on the accounts where funds for Mayowa's treatment were deposited.
Owoseni said that the controversy was caused by misunderstandings over the modalities for dispensing and controlling the money between the Ahmed family, the Nollywood actress, Toyin Aihmaku and Life Stake Foundation.
