The senate on Thursday confirmed the appointment of 45 out of 47 non-career ambassadors nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The upper chamber of the national assembly rejected two of the nominees – Sylvanus Nsofor (Imo) and Jacob Daudu (Ondo).

While voting on the confirmation of the nominees, Monsurat Sunmonu, chairperson of the committee, explained that Nsofor did not perform well at the screening exercise.
Nsofor, a retried judge, is 82 years old. He failed to recite the national anthem when he appeared before the lawmakers.
