The Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, has claimed responsibility for the June 25th bombing of the nation’s capital and for an attack on the same day in Lagos at a fuel depot, a new video currently in AFP’s possession reveals.
The Lagos authorities have since tried to cover the attack, calling it an ‘industrial accident’, but AFP sources insisted that it was as a preplanned explosion.
Shekau, in the video said, “I ordered (the bomber) who went and detonated it,” speaking of the Lagos bomb. He also added that his sect is responsible for the “bomb in filthy Abuja” that killed at least 22 people.
