Canadian tech guys have created a computer program that has the ability to recognize real and fake pain on a person’s face, even better than a human can detect.
The system is smart enough to tell when humans are faking agony, a good idea, and one that will (hopefully) be welcome to football referees in dealing with melodramatic players.
The program is as yet limited, because it relies on analyzing facial expressions rather than the pained tone of a person’s voice.
