The Attorney General says the State of Emergency infringed on the rights of residents of the affected states.
The state of emergency declared by the federal government in the volatile northeast Nigerian states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, was a failed experiment that should not have been, the Borno State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Kaka Lawan, has said.
The Commissioner said the state of emergency declaration did not yield the desired result other than the gross infringement on the rights of residents of the affected states. He called the federal government to consider a strategy change over another extension.
