Super Eagles midfielder Michael Babatunde has thrown his weight behind his team-mates to do the country proud at the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil.

Babatunde will no more play any part in this competition after he was stretchered out of the Eagles game against Argentina on Wednesday when hit by Ogenyi Onazi's shot that resulted in him twisting his right arm.

The Ukraine-based player had a lucky break finding his way into the first team in Nigeria's second match against Bosnia, being Stephen Keshi's preferred choice ahead of Victor Moses.

“I will be praying for the team and I am sure they will do the nation proud in this World Cup,” the Ukraine-based player was quoted as saying on KickOffNigeria.com

Despite his injury,Babatunde was still part of the team that traveled for the game against France on Monday in Brasilia.

Babatunde has successfully undergone surgery and is now recovering from the injury.
