Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona has been ruled out of Nigeria's next game against Bosnia-Herzegovina at the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament.

Oboabona was substituted after copping an injury in Nigeria's first game against Iran on Monday and taken straight to the hospital at half time.

The former Sunshine Stars of Akure defender was initially stretchered off in the game and later entered back into the fray, but the injury was severe which forced him to retire from the match.

The Rizespor player is even a doubt for Nigeria's final group game against Argentina next week .

In his place, skipper Joseph Yobo is expected to get an extended run in the team partnering Kenneth Omeruo in defence.

It is understood that Oboabona has commenced his recovery process and was not part of the team's training session on Tuesday evening.
