Susan Rice, National security adviser to the United States government today made a major gaffe on social media giving Nigerians and the rest of the world one more reason they shouldn't take America too seriously.
Rice who served as Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs during President Bill Clinton's second term earlier today took to Twitter to mourn Nigerian born African literary giant, Chinua Achebe who according to her has just been laid to rest in his native Village.

If Achebe hadn't been laid to rest almost 2 years ago, Rice's tweet would have been celebrated by Nigerians who love to accept goodwill from foreigners.
Being such jolly fellows, Nigerians will laugh and forget Rice's gaffe before sunset but one lesson we must take from it is : Americans are ignorant about everything outside America; don't take them too seriously.
