Fight is still ongoing in many towns and cities in Syria

The deputy prime minister for Syria has said that the ongoing civil war has reached a stalemate with neither side being strong enough to winn.

According to BBC news, Qadri Jamil has told Guardian newspaper of the UK that Damascus will call for a ceasefire with international monitors in proposed peace ralks in Geneva.

Mr. Jamil, according to BBC, seems to believe that Russia is also preparing for peace talks.

The US has meanwhile called upon the UN Szecurity Council to take action over Syria’s chemical weapons. Secretary of State, John Kerry has called upon the council to pass a “binding resolution” when they hold their meeting next week.
