Despite the nomination of President Goodluck Jonathan as sole presidential candidate for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP come 2015, Dr. Abdul Jhalil Tafawa Balewa, son of Nigeria’s First Republic Prime Minister has insisted that he would contest the 2015 presidential election on the party's platform.
According to VANGUARD, Balewa, who holds a doctorate in nuclear chemistry based his challenge on what he described as the transformation of the PDP into a fiefdom.
Meanwhile, reacting to Balewa's aspiration National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, asked, “Is he in PDP?”
