Nigeria’s team to the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games has arrived in Rio, Brazil Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
A total of 23 athletes accompanied by 12 officials including medical personnel, helpers, loaders and team administrators arrived at the games village Sunday evening, the special adviser on media to the sports Minister Nneka Ikem-Anibeze revealed.
Six athletes will take part in para athletics, 14 in para powerlifting and three in para table tennis.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalung urged the team to compete fairly and be of good behaviour at the games.
“I bring you warm greetings from the father of the nation President Muhammadu Buhari. Mr President sends his goodwill and encouragement which is reduced to “Go and make Nigeria proud,” Dalung was quoted in the press release.
The opening ceremony holds on Wednesday in Rio.
