A TEN-year-old is recovering in hospital after his mother's boyfriend chopped off his hand with a meat cleaver and threw it in a pan of boiling water in a fit of rage.

It is alleged that Cheng Sun beat Xiao Jun with a stick before grabbing the cleaver and hacking off his right hand in an attack in Shenyang, in the Liaoning province of China.

In a cruel twist of fate, Sun then threw the boy's hand into a pan of boiling water to reduce the chances of reattachment, then called the police to dob himself in, reports theMail Online.

Jun now faces the prospect of living with an artificial arm after unsuccessful attempts to reattach the hand because it had "swelled up so badly in the boiling water".

The feud was apparently due to a financial crisis within the family and Jun's mother was visiting family at the time of the attack, hoping to secure extra finances to buy a new home.

He has anger issues, I agree. Boiling the hand is plain wickedness mixed with high dose insanity.

...he probably called the police so he'll have some sympathy from the judge or whoever cares to give it.
