On Tuesday, there was major confusion in Baptist High School Iwo, Osun State as students abandoned their school uniforms for hijabs, purdah and choir robes.

The Students also disrupted the usual assembly prayer as they sang different songs of their respective religious faiths. Those who wore Jalamia and hijabs with roses in their hands rendered Allahu Akbar and other Muslim songs, while those with celestial sultana, church choir uniforms, rendered Christians songs.

Worried by the development, the assembly was disbanded and the students ordered that to their different classrooms, however, the students engaged in fighting, over religious superiority in the different classrooms.

The students dress trend is said to be a protest against the general uniform introduced by the state government, as part of its schools reclassification programme.
