As reported earlier, the Nigerian senate on Wednesday confirmed Musiliu Obanikoro as a Federal minister.

Premium Times reports that this appointment was due to President Goodluck Jonathan, and that the allegations of Mr. Obanikoro's complicity in the election fraud in Ekiti were brushed aside.

As will be remembered, Obanikoro was made in a leaked tape as one of the key players in the rigging of the state's governorship elections in 2014, a story that caused nationwide outrage.

The Nigerian Government has refused to investigate the claims, brushing it aside as lies.

Obanikoro became senate-approved as Minister on Wednesday after repeated postponements, despite the protests from Lagos senators and APC members.

As the tale goes, the senate allowed Mr. Obanikoro to 'take a bow and go'without answering the questions. This privilege was accorded to him as being a former senator, ie, a former federal lawmaker.

The APC members responded by walking out in anger.
