Messi scored the only goal of the game after a dubious penalty from an Angel Di Maria push.
But reports say Messi got enraged by linesman Marcelo van Gasse in the second half and reportedly abused him verbally.
"F**k off, your mother's c***," he allegedly screamed at Van Gasse, according to Goal, before refusing to shake his hand at the final whistle.
The incident was not included in the officials' original report, but it was added on Monday and sent to Conmebol.
Messi was promptly fined and suspended.
