Metro Trailer Plunges Into River in Ogun State, Five Feared Dead

Five persons were feared dead on Monday when a trailer plunged into Oyan River along the Sokoto-Iseyin- Igbo-Ora-Abeokuta road in Abeokuta-North local government area of Ogun state, according to Daily trust report.

The accident occurred when the trailer heading to Ibeshe Dangote cement factory was making a descent from the high way but, lost control on the Oyan bridge and plunged into the River at about 12.00pm.

The Seriki Fulani of Abeokuta, Alhahi Muhammed Kabir Labar who was at the scene of the accident said the only survivor claimed that five other persons were on board the trailer before the accident.

He said the survivor had been rushed to the hospital; while efforts are still on to recover the other persons.

“The Police have arrived the scene a big crane to recover the trailer and the victims. We are here to assist and sympathize with our brothers.

"We learnt the trailer was heading to Dangote Cement factory and was returning from Igbo- Ora end before the accident occurred,” he said.
