Ukrainian students said they’d strike to protest President Viktor Yanukovych’s rejection of a European Union trade pact, a decision the former Soviet republic’s leader promised to explain in a television interview.
Students from two universities in the capital, Kiev, said they’ll boycott classes until Dec. 2, with others joining protesters at Independence Square, the scene of the 2004 Orange Revolution, Radio Liberty reported today. Students in the cities of Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk announced strikes a day earlier.
