Business Unity Bank Plc: Oluwatomi Somefun Appointed MD/CEO As Henry Semenitari Resigns

Unity Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Mrs. Oluwatomi Ayodele Somefun as the bank's new Managing Director as its erstwhile Managing Director, Mr. Henry James Semenitari resigns with effect from today 11 August 2015.

Mrs Somefun, a professional banker with 26 years experience in the banking sector has experience covering all key aspects of Treasury, investment and Commercial Banking operations. She is a graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University (BA. Education/English) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). She has also undergone Executive Training & Advanced Management Programs at INSEAD Fontainebleau, Harvard Business School and University of Columbia Business School.

Prior to joining Unity Bank, Mrs. Somefun had a distinguished career with UBA Group where she led two major subsidiaries of UBA as MD/CEO. She had also served as General Manager and led three critical business units of UBA Group.

She has experience which cuts across Institutional Banking, Commercial Banking, Retail Banking and Financial Markets. She had also worked with two leading consulting firms: KPMG and Arthur Anderson (now KPMG).

Prior to this appointment as Unity Bank MD/CEO, Mrs. Somefun was an Executive Director responsible for the bank's Lagos and South West regional operations, and oversight on Treasury and Financial Institutions Division.
