Metro University of Ibadan Reopens, Announces Examination Date

The Senate of the University of Ibadan on Thursday approved the reopening of the university for academic activities on June 20, 2016, after about six weeks forceful closure over students protests.

The Senate which was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka, resolved to reopen the premier university for full academic activities on the 20th of June, while examinations will commence on July 4.

It will be recalled that the University was shut down on April 6, 2016 following restiveness on campus as students expressed their displeasure over the suspension of a union leader by the students’ disciplinary committee and non-availability of some amenities needed on the campus such as lack of power and water which they said had made learning difficult for them.
