Lagos State Government has assured residents of Epe that it would preserve shrines and other heritage sites in the new Epe Master Plan ahead of the 2017 kick-off implementation of the master plan.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Community and Communication, Mr Kehinde Bamigbetan, who disclosed this, said that the government would not destroy the people’s heritage with the plan According to him, “for instance, there are shrines all over Epe town. Those shrines will be preserved.

The areas known as flood plane will also be preserved. So, these are areas that government needs to carry people along. Areas for vegetation, recreation centre must also be preserved so that families who own don’t begin to sell them. In the new plan, there must be enough vegetation to absorb the heat.”

Bamigbetan said frequent interactive session with the residents was meant to carry the residents along in development that would improve their living condition.
