The Nigeria Governors’ Forum yesterday met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa in Abuja over N250 billion shortfall in states’ statutory allocation.

A presidency official who preferred anonymity told journalists yesterday that the governors took up the matter in response to the allegation of diversion of their allocations.

Governors Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom and his Bauchiý counterpart, Muhammad Abubakar, met with Osinbajo, while Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State was represented by the Director-General of the NGF.

Recall that the federal government had reportedly deducted the amount from the various states’ monthly allocations for debts incurred and the bailout funds granted.

Within the same period, the federal government was said to have also deducted N3.078bn for the bail-out funds given some states.
